On Wednesday April 4, 2018 David Geary, Wauconda's Fire Chief will speak to the Rotary of Wauconda at 7:00AM all are welcome to join us.
    Chief Geary's bio:
    • David Geary has lived in Wauconda for 42 years.  He is a member of the Wauconda Moose Lodge, the Sons of the American Legion, and is member and Past President of the Wauconda Lions Club.
    • He started his career in emergency services at the Wauconda Fire Department in 1977 as a volunteer fireman and was one of the first full-time paramedic firefighters hired in Wauconda in 1980.
    • He first became interested in the fire service as a young boy observing his father, who also was a volunteer fireman in Wauconda from 1957 to 1972.
    • Geary was the Medical Officer with the Wauconda Fire Department from 1981 to 1989 and was a paramedic training instructor for the South Lake County Paramedic System from 1984 to 1989.
    • He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1983 and is certified as a Fire Officer, Apparatus Engineer, Public Education Officer, Fire Prevention Officer, and a Certified Emergency Manager.
    • Geary holds an Associate Degree from the College of Lake County, in Fire Service Engineering, and a Bachelor Degree from Columbia Southern University, in Occupational Health and Safety.
    • He left the Wauconda Fire Department in 1990, and work at Universal Studios, in California, as the Director of Emergency Services - for 16 years.  At Universal Studios, I was responsible for emergency response planning and employee health and safety.
